This painting had been planned since the initial sketch. I was always fond of the design and layout. There were elements of the sketch I liked, which clearly shine through in the final painting. Initially, I did a very rough freehand version of this painting. I liked it but it was a bit sketchy and a bit inaccurate. So then I revamped the whole vehicle and character, making them entirely in vector paths and painting onto those.

This painting then sat untouched for months, as I busied myself with animation and other work. Once I found some time and reached a suitable point in my animation for a little break... I hopped back into this. I was sort of fed up with how it looked, so I went all out on the dirt, the weathering and the atmosphere physics. All things I had been really wanting to try for ages. A Great exercise and learning experience.

Please consider buying this as a print from my shop! ...If you enjoy this artwork and would like to hang it on your wall.
